Michigan vs Central Michigan 1st Annual Tailgate Party 2006

The First Annual Sinasac Ultimate Tailgate Party
University of Michigan Football Season 2006
Is it ever too early to talk about football ????? If you ask my wife, she would say "are you Friggen Nuts!" But if you ask any football loving man in North America, they would say "It's never too early to talk about football!"

It is almost time for the Michigan Football 2006 season to kick off, and this year I was thinking about having a group of people come out for a game this year.

Each year I have numerous people asking for opportunities to go to Michigan games, and each game we have a small handful of people to tailgate. I got to thinking of how great of a party we can have if all the people were able to get together at the same time for one game a year.

My plan this year is to get a tailgate together, for all people who are interested in attending a Michigan home game this year. The 2006 schedule is out (see below), but times are not and probably will not be out until a week or two before the game date (thank you TV)… but I can tell you that Michigan usually plays at either 12:10 or 3:30. If you are interested, I want to know soon, so I can organize tickets. I have decided on the CMU game because it is an early season game and it should still be warm.

Tickets for the regular season go on sale June 30th. My goal is to get tickets, for face value through the Michigan Athletic Office, for all the people who are interested. If your thoughts were to attend a game this year, you might as well make it to a game where you can have fun with tailgating.

For all that don’t know what a tailgate consists of… it is an American tradition that is as old as the game of football itself. Where fans get together hours before the game to BBQ, play outdoor games, such as hillbilly golf, chat with friends, and of course have a couple of drinks. It is like having an outdoor BBQ at a remote location…. It is a great way to spend a Saturday in early Fall…. This is a common sight on game days, usually with thousands of people in tailgating areas.

We have a pair of usual spots for tailgating that allow for the most entertainment, lowest cost areas and still a short walk to the stadium.

From I-94 you will be traveling in this direction down State Street to tailgate area

Location 1: Our primacy tailgate location is on the UofM golf course off the entrance of State Street. This is the easiest location for entry and exit, and the lowest cost for golf course parking. Our plan is to usually get there in time to back our vehicles onto the fairway.

Location 2: Our secondary location is used during bad weather. UofM will not allow people to park and use the golf course during weeks with heavy rain, or rain on Saturday. In the event of the bad conditions, we use the parking at the tennis facilities. It makes for a further walk, but still gives us ample tailgating area.

You can contact me at home, but the ideal way is by e-mail and let me know what you think.

Come one… come all. This is an opportunity for the Maize and Blue fans to get together for a big party.

The only exception is no Buckeyes! Sorry Lee… But that is just the way it is….
